For most games just extract and double click on the vpk file. Windows 7 users may have to put the vpk in their l4d addons folder manually.
Dead Before Dawn must be extracted into your addons folder as it is not in vpk form.
These files can be used to enhance your dedicated server as well. Either dump the vpk files in the appropriate place or follow instructions included for Dead Before Dawn.
More files may be added in future, all without passwords.
